Over the past few months, the LifeNet Health Foundation has been busy raising awareness, connecting communities, and honoring the gift of donation.
From our Race for Hope 5K and donor family baseball games to a new donor memorial unveiling to a WTKR Coast Live feature,we’ve seen the power of generosity in action.
We also launched Give Life Every Advantage (GLEA), our new public awareness campaign that helps everyone understand the life-changing impact of donation. GLEA will continue guiding our outreach in 2026.
As we close out the year, consider making a year-end gift to the LifeNet Health Foundation. Your support ensures we keep Saving Lives, Restoring Health, and Giving Hope.
With gratitude,
Will Driscoll Director, Foundation & Community Outreach
In August, we officially launched Give Life Every Advantage, a dynamic, multi-phase awareness campaign highlighting the far-reaching benefits of organ, tissue, and cell donation.
Through broadcast and streaming ads, social media, community outreach, and our dedicated website www.givelifeVA.org, the campaign combats misinformation and inspires action.
In case you missed it, our 30-second donation awareness video is airing all month with our media partner WTKR on TV, streaming, and social media. VIsit GiveLifeVA.org to watch the full 90-second version, especially worth watching if you’re a dog lover!
Just one donor can help more than 75 people through organ and tissue donation and impact the future of cell-based research and regenerative medicine.

Donor Memorial Unveiled at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital
A new memorial sculpture, Bridges by artist Staci Katsias, now stands at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital, honoring the selfless act of organ and tissue donation. Made entirely of reclaimed glass, Bridges symbolizes the connection between donor and recipient, life renewed through generosity. The sculpture was custom designed for Sentara VBGH and made possible through a grant from the LifeNet Health Foundation.
Katsias designed the sculpture in three sections: the descending glass panels on the left represent the donor’s life and end; the circular center panel symbolizes transformation, as the donor’s life continues to impact others; and the ascending panels on the right reflect the recipient’s life, energized with healing and new beginnings.
The glass is 100% reclaimed: the long clear glass panels were once display shelves and the colored glass came from leftover pieces at the Chrysler Museum of Art Perry Glass Studio in Norfolk, Virginia. Repurposing these materials aligns with the essence of organ and tissue donation, giving new life through thoughtful reuse.
The Foundation is proud to support this meaningful tribute to donation.
This year, nearly 400 donor family members joined us at ballparks from Virginia to Washington, sharing moments of remembrance, connection, and healing.
